Fly Fishing Packages

There are two and three day itinerary packages to choose from

The Fly Fishing School is tucked away in the mountains along Vermont’s Route 100 and located on Hawk Inn and Mountain Resort’s 1200 acres and located only a short ride from Okemo, Killington and Woodstock.

The packages provide top level fishing and instruction in an atmosphere sure to relax, refresh and recharge your mind and body.

The casting of a fly line up close to an under cut bank, requires practice. When you enroll in the Fly Fishing School you will learn the techniques needed to make that cast and more.

Enjoy a few days learning one of the fastest growing soft adventure sports for both male and female Our school teaches the catch and release technique, considered by most to be the “Zen” of fly fishing. Fish are caught, photographed and carefully returned to the water with minimal handling.

Our Instructors are carefully selected for their years of experience and dedication to teaching. They custom tailor each class to fit your needs. The Fly Fishing School at Hawk provides 2 to 6 day fly fishing packages for the beginner, while allowing you time to sample all that Hawk Resort has to offer and learn the skills of fly fishing.

During your visit you will have a dedicated instructor making this a great opportunity to enjoy our fly fishing school with good friends & family. Ask about the friends & family discount when you call to book your trip.

Your instructor will monitor your progress and modify the class to fit your specific needs. At the final lunch you will receive a written review of your strengths and weaknesses, suggestions for improvement and photos of your experience.

Oh yes, if your partner does not wish to attend the school, Hawk’s Recreation Center, Spa and Marina provide a range of activities for their enjoyment.

Two Day School Package ~ See Sample Itinerary Below

For those with limited time our two day School provides 12 hours of instruction, fishing and coaching on Hawk’s stocked ponds and the Black River.

Package includes: Breakfast, Snacks, Lunch and Dinner Daily, Spa Treatments, Fishing Equipment, Fishing License, Class Binder with Photo CD, use of Recreation Facilities for just $309 per person, per night inclusive of tax & gratuities. Rate offered Sunday – Thursday.

Three Day School Package ~ See Sample Itinerary Below

With just a little more time the three day school provides 20 hours of instruction helping to ensure your success in achieving the Zen of Fly Fishing. Students enjoy six fly fishing expeditions and coaching on Hawk’s stocked ponds and the Black River.

Package includes: Breakfast, Snacks, Lunch and Dinner Daily, Spa Treatments, Fishing Equipment, Fishing License, Class Binder with Photo CD, use of Recreation Facilities for $267 per person, per day inclusive of tax & gratuities. Rate offered Sunday – Thursday

Departure

Four to Six Days

Students train and take home a full fly fishing package including rod, reel, line, leader, and tools. The school begins with the complete three day program as shown above. After completing the three day school custom options include kayak fishing on Lake Amherst, Guided trips to other Vermont rivers, a trip to the American Fly Fishing Museum, beaver pond fishing, visit to Calvin Coolidge Homestead (where President Eisenhower fished). Your Instructor will help you select activities for your needs.
