Recreation ~ Golf ~ Crown Point Country Club
Built in 1953, this 18-hole, par 72 course, designed by William F. Mitchell, takes wonderful advantage of the rolling Green Mountains and geography unique to Vermont. From large and fast greens interspersed among wooded fairways, Crown Point offers both challenge (in the form of numerous bunkers and water obstacles) and magnifiscent scenery. The course's signature hole is #9, a 172-yard, par 3, requiring a shot over a pond that guards the front of the green. Crown Point has hosted both the New England Amateurs Tournament and the 1997 Vermont Amateur. The clubhouse offers a restaurant, full bar and a fully-stocked pro-shop. There is also a practice putting green and chipping area for warming-up.
